On June 18, QWT distributed 400 food packs. 200 food packs were distributed to poor and needy, Zakat eligible families in Bagh, AJK, and 200 food packs were distributed in the Thar desert, Sind. Both distributions, were done in collaboration with Muslim Aid – Pakistan.
The Thar Distribution was done, near the Rajastan, Pakistan-India border. This is one of the poorest and most neglected areas in Pakistan, as it has little to no road infrastructure. As a result very few if any charities work there. We were very fortunate, lucky and happy that our implementation partner, Muslim Aid, Pakistan were able to organize a food distribution for Qidwai Welfare Trust (QWT) in this region.
