Tharparkar – Rs 1,200,000 Funding Appeal

Village Khri, TharparkarQWT is collecting donations for the digging of four deep water-wells in Tharparkar, Pakistan. We are aiming to raise a total of Rs 1,200,000 (approximately US$12,500; KD3,550). Donations can be made both online using credit cards or via direct bank wire transfers.

Project Summary

Beneficiaries:

300 households (approximately 2,700 people), in Tharparkar, Pakistan.

Project Execution:

The implementation of the project would be completed in a period of two months.The depth of the water wells is expected to be approximately 300 ft.

Sustainability and Safety:

In order to ensure the long term sustainability of these these wells, a water user committee will be formed at each location. Each committee shall be comprised of 10 to 20 community notables who will represent local communities. The water wells will be handed over to the water user committees through an agreement. Moreover, the water committees shall be responsible for the regular maintenance of the water well through contributions from the water users.
