About Us
1. What is QWT about?
Qidwai Welfare Trust (QWT) is a nonprofit organization registered under the 1882 Trust Act of Pakistan. We are predominately a family and friend funded Trust, involved in humanitarian and educational activities in Pakistan.
From 2003 to 2013, QWT operated as Qidwai Welfare Projects (QWP). During this period we were not a registered organization, but simply a group of family and friends who worked along with registered charities globally, to fund and manage charitable projects in Pakistan.
2. What does QWT do?
QWT, funded its first project in 2003. It was a school setup with Muslim Hands, UK for poor and needy children in Sehnsa, Kotli in Azzad Jammu Kashmir. Since then QWT has pursued numerous projects in Pakistan for earthquake & flood victims, poverty stricken families, and orphans, including the establishment of hundreds of water wells, another school in rural Islamabad, ten orphan homes and distribution of thousands of tons of food ration and cooked meals.
QWT has not established its own presence on the ground, and it pursues its projects by leveraging the infrastructure and teams of its partner organizations. QWT usually opts to setup its own projects under the auspices of other organizations, rather than support existing ones, because of transparency issues and QWT’s emphasis on quality rather than quantity. We at QWT reap satisfaction by providing focused, comprehensive and tailored assistance to beneficiaries.
