Each family will be provided with approximately 50kg of un-cooked food stables including flour, rice, sugar, lentils, chickpeas, cooking oil, ghee, gram flour, dates, tea and mix spices.

QWT has been organizing Ramadan food distributions for the past eight years. Last year we distributed 71.25 tons of food, to 1,350 families (details).

Why Pakistan:

Poverty is widespread in Pakistan and is particularly predominant in rural areas. Nearly two thirds of the population, and 80 per cent of the country’s poor people, live in rural parts of the country. Studies on poverty show that every third Pakistani is living his life below the poverty line. About 58.7 million out of 180 million Pakistanis are living below the poverty line.Village Thor Chhaho

According to the Human Development Index, 60.3% of Pakistan’s population lives on under $2 a day, and some 22.6% live under $1 a day. Wealth distribution in Pakistan is highly uneven, with the top 10% of the population earning 27.6% and the bottom 10% earning only 4.1% of the income. According to the United Nations Human Development Report, Pakistan’s human development indicators, especially those for women, fall significantly below those of countries with comparable levels of per-capita income.
